Anthea sadly died in December, aged 66. In 2005, she was diagnosed with a lymphoma of the brain. Anthea completed intensive treatment with chemotherapy and radiotherapy over the following year. She was thankfully cured. Unfortunately, the treatment led to a slow decline and eventually resulted in the need for nursing home care in the last three and half years of her life.
When we think of Anthea, we remember her loving, caring, understanding, welcoming and trusting personality with unshakable morals. She always saw the best and the good in everyone.
Anthea was dearly loved and we will miss her more than words can express.
The family have created this page for anyone who would like to share thoughts, or contribute to a charity in Anthea's memory.
The charities:
Anthea enjoyed making candles and she sold them for the benefit of a water charity. We feel sure she would like to support Water Aid's work for clean water
We would like to support Blood Cancer UK to continue their research and help those in the next generation who face similar challenges with lymphoma or other blood cancers.
Anthea was one of the kindest people I have known. Her generosity of spirit was immediately apparent and wholly sincere, and extended beyond family and friends, to work colleagues and, I expect, everyone who came into contact with her. She will be long remembered and much missed.
Love Sue & Ed
